• Every exhaust header is individually fabricated, and fully TIG welded. This makes 22 Fabrications headers not just beautiful, but also tough and able to withstand abuse.

Titanium used as an exhaust material will exhibit a different set of pros and cons when compared to our stainless steel offerings:

Pros

• Titanium’s strength-to-weight is far superior, allowing extremely thin wall tubing to be used. This cuts the total weight nearly in half.
• Titanium has phenomenal corrosion resistance, meaning oxidation from the elements will essentially not exist.
• Whether left “raw” or colored, titanium’s beauty will last much longer than stainless steel.

Cons

• The price of titanium materials is exponentially higher, and not widely available in common mandrel bends. This is why “pie-cuts” are used, leading to massively increased production time. Hence the large difference in cost.
• The thinner material will not accept impacts like our stainless headers. If you are crawling over rocks, stick with stainless! Titanium is also not as “hard,” and will scratch more easily.
• Titanium has a finite lifespan when exposed to heat. Eventually the portions exposed to the most temperature fluctuation will become “brittle” and susceptible to cracking. Unfortunately this is not a 100 percent predictable timeline, but the average rider will most likely part with their bike before the titanium fails. Those that put a lot of hours and demand on their ride may want to stick to stainless.

Titanium headers will not typically be kept in stock, but are worth the wait. They are “made-to-order” and can be expected to deliver 4-6 weeks from order.
